Burnley Brewing have a lot of love for classic styles, using left-of-centre beer ingredients and local collaborations and this beer sees them combine all of the above. It's a beer that starts off with the German-style dark lager known as Schwarzbier and saw them partner up with Veneziano Coffee Roasters whose home is a short walk from Burnley's brewpub.
Over multiple cupping sessions (basically beer sensory that's easier to start the day off with), the brewers and roasters picked a bean they thought would best suit the schwarzbier and landed on some naturally-processed Timor Leste single origin coffee (which coincidently, is a very important industry on our doorstep). Which brings us to the beer itself and its aromas of freshly-ground coffee beans and underlying chocolate notes alongside dark fruit, a gentle bitterness and crisp finish.

Better yet, if you're a Crafty Cabal member, you can call into Burnley up until June 7 to get your hands on a four-pack of the beer on the house.
