When Big Shed owners Craig and Jason venture to Sydney, they always drop in to visit their long-time supporters at Hotel Sweeney's. They're big fans of the CBD pub's rooftop bar and figured it was about time they made a collaboration beer that was "quaffable with a boozy kick". The result is I Am Brut … a Brut IPA and Big Shed’s first crack at a style that continues to deliver pun after pun; here the name (and artwork) tips a wink to Guardians of the Galaxy favourite Groot.
The bottle suggests "if you’re peak Sydney, you can enjoy from a champagne flute" and this Brut wouldn’t be too far out of place given its light-yellow colour. The aromas present with fresh and vibrant white wine like characters that head into kiwi fruit territory, with maybe a slice of melon in there too.
The 6.6 percent ABV booze delivers a subtle kick in a beer that's true to style in finishing just short of super dry and that the collaborators hope can satisfy the upper classes of Sydney as well as the kick about crew of Royal Park.
