The third entry in Jervis Bay’s series of single hop beers is a study in Strata. But, while the previous two beers were 5.1 percent ABV pale ales, this one’s a step up: a 6.6 percent ABV IPA that exudes more hop character with more oomph.
From the beginning, the aroma is awash with sweet fruits: strawberries come together with stonefruit and other tropical fruits like you’ve picked all the toppings off the Christmas pavlova. But take a sip and that sweet fruit soon gives way to a more savoury dankness, with an earthy finish and a nice bitterness to see you out.
