First there was the Little NEIPA, then came Juice Town, and now Mash Brewing have gone even bigger with JOOST. This double NEIPA is a play on the Boost Juice franchise, albeit one that sees the Swan Valley operations stick with the Clockwork Orange theme featuring Huxley the Orange on the decal.
Bursting with juicy fruit flavours, it's hard to believe this beer contains no added fruit juice. It pours like a glass of breakfast juice with aromas of guava, candied oranges, pineapple and kiwi fruit, courtesy of a triple dry-hop with Ekuanot, Galaxy, Mosaic and Citra. Head brewer Brad Nolen changed things up in the brewing process to create the residual sweetness he was after, although there's a prickly bitterness sitting around 30 IBU to make you aware this is a beer you are drinking and not just tropical juice.
With a silky smooth mouthfeel and a warming 8.5 percent ABV completing the picture, it begs the question: have you had your Boost Joost lately?
