First impressions may link this Nowhereman’s dark lager release to the recent full solar eclipse, however Black Sunshine has something to do with an eponymous bicycle named after Nowhereman’s former head brewer Eddie Still by Preston Valley Hops. Curious for sure, but there’s a more pressing question at hand…
And, it’s one which lies beyond the smooth balance of toast-bae malt, dusted cola hints, and a blush of earthy Donnybrook hops, which resolves with a familiar thought: "Why aren’t we drinking more dark lagers?"
The response: “We should be!” can be heard from the beer's crisp coda, cool weather charisma and sessionability.

Orders another, possibly a stout this time. Or was that a porter?
AlphaRon returns, joining it’s cold-conditioned sibling for an annual outing which has become something of an ongoing nudge to founder Reece Wheadon’s dad; he repeatedly asked for a porter called Alpha Dog but instead has a stout named after him. Call it a case of "careful what you wish for" unless what you wish for is a dialled-in stout, replete with liquorice-tinged, mocha-dark choc meets roast malt and retrofuturistic space exploration.
Your move, Ron.
