In 2022, Nowhereman’s affinity with the pilsner style saw the West Leederville brewers aim cheeky jibes at WA's ongoing lagering arms race in the shape of their 123 Day Pilsner, compete with cans clad in zombies – a duality reflecting a similarly-named film, and presumably a reflection of the brew team after staring at the same liquid occupying the same pieces of stainless for four months. This time around, they've taken a different direction, with New World Pilsner cloaked in light pastels and arriving at its destination via New Zealand Wai-iti and Australian Ella hops. The pair’s noble origins play well with the light bready base, delivering soft, peachy stonefruit, lime notes and NZ hop greenness. And what begins juicy soon flips to an arid finish, one that accentuates bitterness, while proving this New World still carries some zombie swagger.
Ratcheting up the lupulin levels, the brewers celebrated their sixth birthday at the Altar Of The IPA. It's a heady mix of three of their favourite hop varieties, Strata, Idaho 7 and Citra, as well as also one which borrows from various points across the IPA style universe in showcasing citrus and pineapple with bitterness while looking towards hazies more than the West Coast. By the time dank dabs arrive, the liquid sacrifice at this altar is almost gone.
