The STP motor oil referencing Mash Russian Imperial Stout, their first take on the style in more than a decade of beers, is formulated to “Improve chest hair growth”, “Lower inhibitions” and “Lubricate dry neck holes” – as tested on the Mash brewers.
As tested on the male half of The Crafty Pint’s West Coast writing team, it ticks two out of the three claims – my chest hair doesn’t need any encouragement and I’m confident the female half isn't looking for any improvement on that front either, thanks very much.
Distractions aside, here Mash has delivered a very enjoyable Russian imperial stout. Dark chocolate, espresso, liquorice and a touch of soy are all at play, as drying baker's cocoa weaves its way in too, all followed by a slight warming booziness towards the finish.
